The couple purportedly got hitched in 1971 when the lady of the hour was 18. she was conceived on the eleventh December 1952, of Fulani relative and identified with the late Shehu Usman Danfodio.

The marriage delivered five kids, to be specific, Zulaiha (Late), Fatima, Musa, Hadiza and Safinatu Buhari. In 1998 Hajiya Safinatu was analyzed of diabetes and subsequent to living with it for a very long time, she capitulated to the infirmity and surrender the apparition on the fourteenth of January 2006.
