The Governor of Osun State, Governor Gboyega Oyetola may not be able to deliver the State for APC in the Forthcoming Polls due to some reasons. It should be recalled that the last Governorship Election that brought Governor Oyetola into Power was controversial. Governor Oyetola won the 2018 Governorship election through rerun election. The Deputy Governor of the State, Otunba Iyiola Omisore was one of the Opposition Leaders that helped Governor Oyetola in 2018 to win the rerun election.
One of the reasons why Governor Oyetola may not be able to deliver the State for APC in the Forthcoming Polls is that Governor Oyetola's Loyalists are not ready to reconcile with the aggrieved members of the Party. It should be recalled that Governor Oyetola and his Predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola have been fighting each other, immediately after the 2018 Governorship election. Aregbesola could not win his Federal Constituency and Local Government For Oyetola.
It was reliably gathered that the Ward Congress of the Party that took Place in the State, Aregbesola's Loyalists were not given much Positions during the Congress. Aregbesola filed Petition against the outcome of the Ward Congress but his Petition was Struck out by the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention And Planning Committee of the Party. As a result of this, Governor Oyetola needs to reconcile and make Peace with Aregbesola in the State before the 2022 Governorship Polls.
Another reason why Governor Oyetola may not be able to deliver the State to APC is that Governor Oyetola has neglected Some Leaders of the Party that worked for him in 2018 Governorship Polls. None of the APC Governorship Aspirants that contested against Governor Oyetola in 2018 are still with him. Though, The Leaders belong to Aregbesola's faction in the State, called The Osun Progressives 'TOP' and the TOP members may work against Governor Oyetola in the Forthcoming Polls.
Among the Governorship Aspirants that worked for the success of Governor Oyetola in 2018 but who may not support him in 2022 Governorship Polls are the former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Lasun Yusuf and the Former Speaker of the Osun State, House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Najeem Salam. If Oyetola cannot make Peace with Aregbesola and Other Leaders of the Party, he may find it difficult to deliver the State for APC in the Forthcoming Polls.
