Corruption: Peter Obi Defends TI Report, Passes Verdict As He Tackles Buhari's Administration

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi has finally weighed in on the latest Transparency International report as he bemoans corruption has worsened under president Buhari.

In a report by Daily Post, Peter Obi said Nigerians don't need the Transparency International report for them to realize that corruption has worsened.

The former vice presidential candidate disclosed this while speaking to Arise News as he called on Buhari administration to listen and accept the truth even when it doesn't favour them.

According to Peter Obi, corruption is getting worse in Nigeria and we don't need TI to tell us that, noting that we see it, witness it everyday and we know it is getting worse.

“Is corruption getting worse in Nigeria? Yes, we don’t need Transparency International to tell us that.",Peter Obi said.

The former governor further advised, saying" we have to respect and learn to listen when people are telling us the truth". According to him, accepting the truth doesn't have to be when it favours us as one of the tools of leadership is the ability to listen and learn from genuine criticism.

Obi remark was in reaction to the statement by President Buhari's Spokesman, Garba Shehu, that faulted TI's report, labeling it inaccurate as he maintained that Buhari deserves credit for fighting corruption and diminishing it in the public service.

Is Peter Obi right with his Verdict? Has corruption worsened under Buhari administration as compared to Nigeria situation before he came on board?
