Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, says the country which used to be flowing with milk and honey, now flows with bitterness and sadness as a result of the present socio-economic and political challenges facing the country.
According to the ex-president, what the country is going through presently goes contrary to what God has predestined for the nation.
Olusegun Obasanjo said this today, the 3rd of June 2021, while receiving a book titled “The Man, The General, and The President,” written by Femmy Carrenaat presented to him at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.
He, however, pray that everyone will have something positive to contribute to making the country great again. That is, making the country what God predestined it to be; "a land flowing with milk and honey".
The president went further to encourage everyone not to look down on themselves, describing Nigerians as great minds with geniuses present in every sector.
“Right now, it is a land flowing with bitterness and sadness, that is not what God wants this country to be.
We must change the narrative, we must talk to ourselves in the civilized language." The ex-president maintained.
