The 2023 general election in Nigeria took place last Saturday 25th of February across different polling units in the country where electorates were allowed to vote for their respective choice of candidate.
After the collation of the result was finalized yesterday at the collation centre in Abuja, the ruling party All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Lagos State Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was announced as the winner and President-Elect.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress won the election with a total of eight million, seven hundred and ninety four thousand seven hundred and twenty six (8,794,726) votes.
Since the election result was officially declared, it has garnered and stirred several mixed reactions from people across the country as many supporters of the opposition party were not pleased with the outcome.
As such, it was reported by Channels Television via their verified Twitter handle today that a group protested the emergence of the APC's Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-Elect in the 2023 general elections.
In order to maintain peace, law and order the military personnel were also reportedly on course as they keep parading the Unity Fountain in Abuja where the protest was staged.
However, this is not seen as the solution at this time as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has urged every politicians, candidates and supporters who might want to challenge the outcome of the election result to proceed to the courts with evidence and not the streets.
