How Guns & Ammunition Were Recovered From A Car During APC Congress In Ogun state (Photos)

Ogun state commissioner of police, CP Lanre Sikiru-Bankole has revealed how some guns and ammunition were recovered from a car at the palace of the Alake of Egbaland towards the end of the APC Congress on Saturday. CP Lanre disclosed this while parading the suspects who were found in the car at the Ogun state police command.


You may recall that there was tension at the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, on Saturday, when hoodlums stormed the venue used by a faction of the APC in the state to conduct their Congress. Daily Trust reported that hundreds of persons, including security operatives scampered for safety amid the pandemonium.

However, while narrating how the guns were recovered from the car, CP Lanre disclosed that a suspicious vehicle with no plate number was spotted in the palace towards the end of the event. They stopped the vehicle and upon seeing the Policemen, the occupants of the vehicle attempted to hide some things.

The Policemen checked the vehicle and recovered some guns and ammunition. At the moment, the suspects are already in police custody undergoing discreet investigation.

The Palace of the Alake of Egbaland was used by the APC faction led by Amosun. While the faction led by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun used the main bowl of the MKO Abiodun stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta as the venue of their Congress.
