Governor of Katsina State Blames Bandit Attacks on Enemies of APC

The executive Governor of Katsina State Aminu Bello Masari has laid blames on enemies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the attacks by bandits and Boko Haram in the Northern part part of the country.

The Governor said this on Sunday July 19 in a meeting with APC ward and local government chairmen. He said attacks by bandits has led to an increase in kidnapping of people for ransom, as well as, killings and destruction of people's property. He discloses that these attacks are premeditated to portray APC in bad light so as to dwindle the party's chance of being voted into power in the forthcoming 2023 election.

In his words he said:“

Most of the bandits and Boko Haram attacks facing the northern part of the country are sponsored by some politicians who are enemies of the present APC government at both federal and state level.

He compared the current situation to that of former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's that was marred with multiple bombings in places like Maiduguri, Kano and even Abuja.

He explained that the Kano bombing then killed scores of people in worship centers like in the Mosques, churches and roads were closed due to the attacks, but all those are in the past.

He further stated that the situation now is that politicians who are vying for political post in the forthcoming elections are responsible for sponsoring banditry, as the expertise demonstrated by the group of bandits in weapon handling, and how they ambush military personnel shows there is someone behind their action.

Speaking further the Governor mentioned that:“They are saying we dislodged the PDP administration because of insecurity, so they want to make use of insecurity to also send APC away, that is why all APC should be vigilante.

He made the call to community members to help in the fight by giving information to the military and the police in tackling banditry as it is a fight for all and shouldn't be left to the force alone.
