Izombe Killings: Gov. Hope Uzodinma To Set Up Committee To Rebuild Community

The Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma has portrayed how devastated he was, after visiting the clash scene at Izombe Community in Oguta. He revealed his plans to rebuild all destroyed properties.

The Governor made this statement on his Facebook page after visiting the scene.

Gov Hope Uzodinma tweeted saying.

"I am saddened at the gory sight of the destroyed properties and lost lives of innocent people of Izombe community in Oguta L.G.A Imo state.

"This occurred as a result of the recklessness bandits who has chosen to foment mayhem without recourse for morality.

"In the wake of this crisis, I call on the military agencies to sheathe their sword and allow the innocent to enjoy their peace while the government intervene.

"Today, during my interaction with the traditions rulers and the good people of Izombe, I admonished the youths of Izombe from taking arms as a means of livelihood, let alone attacking the constituted authorities.

"While it is quite disheartening that innocents have to bear the consequences of an actions that arose from the action of a few, I call on the community leaders to assist the government in flushing out these hoodlums.

"In few days to come, I shall constitute a bilateral committee that would comprise Government officials and the leadership of the community to fashion out modalities to commence a project "Rebuild Izombe."

The Governor also promised to compensate all homes that were demolished by this attack.
