Okezie Ikpeazu, Wike, Ortom, Samuel, Ifeanyi Will Not Cast A Vote For PDP On Saturday-Orji Uzor Kalu

According to Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate, the G-5 governors will not vote for the People's Democratic Party in the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.

He implies that the governors will not back Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and presidential candidate for their party.

They included the governors of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, Rivers, Nyesom, Ortom, Samuel, Enugu, Ifeanyi, and Oyo.

Recall that they, led by Wike, have been at odds with Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the PDP, for years because Ayu nominated a fellow Northerner for president while rejecting their request for his resignation.

Ironically, some are also campaigning for the Senate on party lines.

There is no primary opposition party in the nation, he said in response to a question on 2023 Verdict on Channels TV on Wednesday morning about whether he still thought the NNPP posed a greater threat to the All Progressives Congress in the elections than the rival party.

The APC had downgraded NNPP, he said.

"We are taking our time. We've gained control over them and developed a strategy that has successfully kept them in check.

You know, I don't want to call these people by their names. I have tried not to call Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, or Atiku Abubakar because they are all my friends.

"I go to their homes to eat, so there is no need to name-call, but I am aware that he posed a threat when I said that.

The threat has, however, significantly diminished as of late. We have been able to show the people in the north why we are the ruling ones by explaining a few things to them.

"PDP is not in a rivalry. They are not engaged in regional or national competition. My state's governor will not support them.

"The governor of Enugu won't vote for them, in my opinion. Ortom won't cast a ballot for them. They won't receive Wike and Makinde's votes.

So there is a significant crack, he said, "Unless you are not a student of reality or realism."
