For the first time I Am Seeing Armed Soldiers Guarding Arise News Premises -Dele Farotimi

It is no longer news that the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election is being contested at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Commission declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of February 25th poll.

Asiwaju reportedly polled over 8.9 million votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party

As the two closest rivals in the just concluded election are seeking redress in the court of law, the spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Dele Farotimi has lamented about the freedom of expression.

Speaking during an interview with Arise News on the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election, Dele Farotimi lamented that freedom of the press is threatened in Nigeria.

According to him, his life has been threaten and the security authorities have not done anything. He said even Arise TV have resolved to protect themselves.

"I have been coming to your TV station for a while now and many years this is the first time I would be seeing Armed Soldiers required to protect what is supposed to be a free press. We are dealing with a situation where even though we may pretend we everything is normal. There is nothing normal in our situation"
