There is this popular belief that the Igbos' are not loved by the President. But I don't think that belief is true. There are several things that the president has done that suggest that he loves the people from the South-East, but in this article, we will look at two things he has done for the Igbos'.
1. Despite the insecurity issue in the Southeast, the President still visited Imo State. It takes one that loves a person or a place to visit the person, knowing that there are risks involved in the movement.
I don't think the president just visited Imo state because it is an APC state or to commission projects but because he wants peace in the Southeast and that was why he came by himself.
2. Another thing the president has done that suggests that he loves the Igbo people is giving the position of the chairman of the NNPC incorporated to Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.

At least having Ararume on the board would give the Igbos a sense of belonging in the government of Nigeria. This kind gesture by the president is bound to have a salutary impact on the psychology of the average Igbo, having been shut out in the past six years by being denied their well-deserved place in the top echelon of government.
