APC Chieftain Defends IPOB, Politicians Over Imo Attacks

Yesterday, the Imo State government accused former Governor Rochas Okorocha of mastermind Monday’s attacks on the police command headquarters and the correctional center.

But Senator Rochas has come out to debunk such claims and urged Governor Hope Uzodinma to stop politicizing security matters and seek his counsel on how to deal with criminality.

Imo Commissioner for Information Declan Emelumba alleged Senator Rochas of engaging thugs whom he had granted amnesty to instigate violence on the state.

“When that failed, he resorted to violence to repossess property government had sealed. That is the motive for the attacks,” the commissioner said

The Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial district, Ishaku Elisha Abbo in recent comments claimed that it is not difficult to end Boko Haram attacks and other criminal activities in the North East.

While speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, he reiterated that the insecurity problem faced by the north simply requires the commitment of the government in establishing security formations in some strategic areas in the North, with the business of facing Sambisa forest alone.
