He wants them to be thrown open for the best individuals to occupy them. Wike who is a major financier of the PDP has given the party one tough condition before he can support the zoning arrangement according to Vanguard newspaper.
We will discuss that in this article and why the South-East region appears to be helpless in the PDP ahead of 2023.
What is the tough condition Wike gave to PDP before he can support the zoning arrangement in the party?
The Rivers State Governor insisted that the South-South and the South-East must be excluded from occupying the national chairman position which the PDP has zoned to the South.

The reasons for this condition from Wike won't be unconnected with his 2023 presidential ambition which many of his fellow Governors are now aware of.
Although it is against his interest that the national chairmanship was zoned to the South, Wike is still pushing to see if he can grab the 2023 presidential ticket of the PDP as a Southerner.
How is the South-East helpless in all these?
The geo-political zone which has supported the PDP since 1999 is nowhere to be found in all the permutations going on in PDP.
The South-West is mobilising to produce the National Chairman of the PDP. The North is insisting that it is only a Northern presidential candidate that can lead PDP to victory in 2023.
The South-South is working to either grab the 2023 presidential ticket or become a running mate. The South-East is not even being considered for any of the key positions in PDP as it stands now.
The only way things can favour them is if Atiku grabs the 2023 PDP presidential ticket.

Then Peter Obi can be picked as running mate.
