Insurgency had never bring any good to Nigeria other than instability and backwardness and due to the act, the campaign flag-off ceremony of the All Progressive Congress (APC) that was slated to hold today, in respect of the forthcoming November 6 Anambra State governorship election, has been postponed in order to honour victims of various banditry attacks in the interim state.

Senator Andy Uba, the governorship aspirant of the APC in a statement he personally signed, said his party will not play politics with people's lives, stressing that the decision of the party was taken to honour the death of those killed in recent attacks across the state.

Sen. Uba's statement read below:
"Like every other well-meaning members of the public, I have followed with much sadness and grief, the unfortunate and mindless state of violence in Anambra State, I am heartbroken due to the institutional capacity and inability of the APGA-led state government to address security challenges and prevent the state from further activities that could lead to chaos and anarchy.

"I, Senator Andy Emmanuel Uba will be the very last person to sacrifice or play politics with the lives of our people, neither will I allow anybody to do so under my watch. As we move forward, I will ensure that I put everything lawfully at my disposal to ensure that these 'politically-motivated killings' are brought to an end in order for the people of Anambra State to go about their lawful business without fear of threat."
In my opinion, Senator Uba's statement that he would not play politics with people's lives is indirectly a mockery of the inability of the APGA-led government in the state to find solution to the unending killings of the residence. According to Mr Uba, the safety and preservation of people's lives must at all time, take precedence over any political interest, activities or association. If you duly observe Mr Uba's statement, it could be noted that the current political party ruling the state is weak in fighting the crisis affecting the state but that is merely an act of an opposition party.
