The Southern Governors of Nigeria today met for the third time in Enugu State to discuss issues affecting the Southern region of Nigeria.
Their first meeting took place in Asaba the capital of Delta State while their second meeting took place in Lagos where they gave themselves September 1 deadline to ban open grazing in Southern Nigeria.
Report from Punch newspaper named Southern Governors who were present at the meeting in Enugu. After I read that report I discovered that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi were absent at the meeting.

I wonder why these two APC Governors from the South-East were absent at this important meeting in Enugu despite that Enugu is 2 hours drive to Owerri and 3 hours drive to Abakiliki.

Could it be that both of them had important official assignments to carry out as Chief Executive Officers of their states? or that they are out of the country? Is it possible that Umahi and Uzodinma were absent because they are feeling unwell?
I don't want to believe that it is because they refused to pass the anti-open grazing bill in their states. What is worrisome is that both Uzodinma and Umahi were absent at the Asaba and Lagos meeting of the Southern Governors.
They only send their representatives to stand in for them. I expected Dave Umahi who is the chairman of the South-East Governors' Forum to be there to at least show that the South-East region is with the Southern Governors in their efforts to make the Southern region better.

It is appalling that only Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State who hosted the Southern Governors was the only South-East Governor present.
Governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Willie Obiano, Dave Umahi, Hope Uzodinma sent in their representatives. I wonder how Governors from South-West who travelled a long distance to Enugu will feel realising that only one South-East Governor who is hosting them attended the meeting.
