PDP urges Nigerians to support Buhari

The PDP in Lagos has urged Nigerians and ethnic nationalities to support President Muhammadu Buhari in executing his regime’s “dialogue-based solutions to legitimate grievances.”

The Lagos PDP spokesman Taofik Gani made the call while reacting to Mr Buhari’s 61st Independence Day broadcast on Friday.

“What we can do is to encourage ourselves to support the president, based on these independence day declarations. We should obey the clarion call that Nigeria belongs to us all,” said the PDP spokesman. “If it breaks, we have no other place to go. We must give the president the benefit of doubt."

Ebonyi to recruit 5,000 civil servants before January 2022

The Ebonyi Government says it would employ no fewer than 5,000 persons into its workforce and empower at least 3,000 before January 2022.

Governor Dave Umahi made the declaration on Friday at a news conference in Abakaliki to mark the 25th anniversary of Ebonyi, created on October 1, 1996, by military dictator Sani Abacha.

Reeling out the successes in the state’s growth and development, the governor said, “Our nation and Ebonyi have been going through challenges, especially the scourge of insecurity that has eaten deep into the fabrics of our economy.

We’ll block use of 5G against Nigeria’s unity: Pantami

As Nigeria gears up to deploy Fifth Generation (5G) Internet, communications minister Isa Pantami says authorities will move to block usage of the technology against national security.

“We must ensure that 5G deployed is not used against the nation and its unity. Let us use it for the good of our country and the benefit of all,” Mr Pantami enjoined at an internet governance discourse in Abuja.

The 10th edition of the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum (NIGF 2021) was organised by Nigeria Internet Governance Forum Multistakeholder Advisory Group (NIGF-MAG), led by Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The yearly forum affords stakeholders the opportunity to participate and make contributions to the development and governance of the internet in Nigeria.

We’ve Arrested Over 2,000 Bandits’ Informants, Others In Zamfara - Commissioner

The ongoing military onslaught on bandits in Zamfara State has resulted to the arrest of no fewer than 2000 bandits’ informants as well as their food suppliers, the commissioner for information in the state, Ibrahim Dosara has disclosed.

This is just as he further disclosed that among the informants, currently giving out vital information on bandits’ modus operandi, were some highly placed people in the society.

Dosara also disclosed that no fewer than 80 percent of bandits had fled the state and that the remaining 20 percent of the bandits had resorted to feeding on raw millets and “okro” as their food suppliers chain had been cut off.
