We recorded 89 cases of electoral violence with 671 victims during the presidential election – Idowu

An Election Security Expert, Bukola Idowu has revealed that they recorded 89 cases of electoral violence with 671 victims during the just concluded presidential election that was held on the 25th of February 2023.
Bukola Idowu said this while speaking in an interview with Arise TV on Friday. Bukola Idowu said that the statement they were able to get from the police is that the investigation is still ongoing.
He said, "After the 25th of February election, people were arrested. From our situation room, we recorded 89 cases of electoral violence spread across 671 victims, some of them women and the rest. The statement we have been able to get from the police is that the investigation is ongoing and that they are going to pass some of them to INEC. Now, this is like two weeks after. Politicians are already filing a petition now. We are yet to see the electoral offenders in court".
