The president made this known while playing host to the head of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, Ahunna Eziakonwa, at the state house in Abuja on Thursday morning. He clearly stated that Nigeria must pass many stages and processes before it can be a developed country. He also praised the activities of other international bodies in the country, such as the United Nations Development Programme.
In a news article published by the punch, the President stated that the United Nations Development Programme deserved a National award for their enormous effort towards the development of the country, particularly the Northeast. The president also stated that his administration is working towards making Nigeria a better country to live in.
The president stated that as a developing nation, Nigeria must follow the due process of development and also appreciate the help and support of international organizations.
