Following this report, some Nigerians condemned the the nomination of the ex-service chiefs noting that plane was to protect them from being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged abuses committed by Nigerian Army during their term.
Despite complains from Nigerians over their nomination, On 23rd of February, 2021 it was reported that the Senate has confirmed the four Ex- Service Chiefs As Non-career Ambassadors.
Few hours after this update was released, a popular Nigerian human rights activist Omoleye Sowore released a message for Nigerians via his official twitter account.
According to him:
“Dear Nigerians in the Diaspora: If Buratai or any other criminal Former Buhari service chiefs is (are) sent to your domain anywhere in the world please chase them back to Nigeria in sustained Protest! Remember they are only fit to be sent to the ICC in The Hague”.
