In his quest to thoroughly supervise the ongoing construction on the Lagos Ibadan standard gauge rail line , minister of transport, Rotimi Ameachi has once again embarked on his monthly inspections on the rail projects.
The project inspection have taken him once again to the new Abeokuta train station which is located at Ori Osoko community as well as other projects site on the rail corridor.
While at Abeokuta, the minister inspected the first floor of the main stations building that is meant to serve as shopping mall according to the project supervisor.
Not seeing the place already partitioned, the minister then queried the project supervisor who promptly explained that the partitioning will be done with modern partition board.
It was also observed that the main floor of the station is now flooded with iron furniture's which are meant for the passengers to sit as they awaits the arrival of the train.
Other Facilities in the building includes two panoramic elevators already installed on the main floor of the train stations main building.
Part of the progress that was noticed against the Minister's last visit in March is the full installation of the two escalators Installed on both sides of the passengers walk way.
The manager of Nigeria Railway Corporation Fidelia Okhiria was with the minister in the monthly inspection tour.
