Israel vs Palestine: Turkish President Phones Buhari, Seeks Nigeria’s Support for Palestine

Turkish President, Recep Erdogan, says he expects Nigeria to support Palestine in the ongoing crisis in the middle east between the Jewish State of Israel and its Islamic neighbors, Palestine.

Erdogan made the call when he spoke with Buhari on the telephone during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

He took to twitter to disclose the contents of the conversation.

According to his post, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

Erdogan said he emphasized to Buhari the need to support his country's efforts at getting the international community to teach Israel, which he described as an "unlawful, unjust and unscrupulous" State, a lesson.

Besides Buhari, Erdogan is reported to have reached out to other Muslim leaders in his quest to get backing for the Palestinians.

He has reportedly spoken with the president of Kyrgyz, Sadyr Japarov; that of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani; the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi; his Libyan counterpart, Abdul Dbeibeh and a former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad.

Meanwhile, Israel has continued to bombard Gaza, killing 103 Palestinians, including 27 children and 11 women according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

580 others have been injured in the air raids.
