One of the most important projects in Kano, the much talked about triple decker bridge is almost completed. The beautiful bridge consists of an underpass, above roads, and an overhead bridge. When completed, this will go a long way to ease traffic congestion in that axis of Kano. It will add to the beautiful aesthetics of Kano city as a whole.
Various governments of Kano state since the inception of democracy have embarked on various infrastructure projects. Visible among these projects are bridges and roads in the city of Kano.
kano is a major commercial hub in the region with people coming from all over Nigeria and some parts of Africa to purchase goods from Kano traders. Infrastructure projects such as these will make movement of commuters and goods easier. There are efforts also from the federal government of Nigeria to develop infrastructure in the State. There are plans to extend the Abuja-Kaduna rail to Kano state. The expressway that connects Abuja and Kaduna to Kano, is also being expanded. The Federal government also recently flagged-off a pipeline project that will supply gas from the Niger-Delta to some cities in the Northern region, including Kano. This will encourage industrial development projects in the region, that will create jobs and improve the general welfare of Nigerians.
