DEFECTION: Fani-Kayode 'attacks' Channels TV Reporter, Seun

Femi Fani-Kayode became temperamental on Channels Television, tearing into its reporter Mr Seun Okinbaloye after the journalist asked him if his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was “finance-related”.

“Seun, I don’t expect that kind of ridiculous and absurd question from you. Okay?” Fani-Kayode began. “I have never ever lacked in finances. There has been no inducement. Politicians don’t move because of finances. If I had wanted finances I would have moved a lot sooner than today.”

He went on: “I have struggled and have fought over the last six years more than any of the little monkies [that] have said what you just said to me now. And I stand proud and I stand tall. The kind of family that I come from; the kind of background that I have; finances are never an issue.

“But of course, this is always the absurd narrative that people with a very small brain and a low intelligent quotient always put out when they feel threatened. And I don’t care.

“You can insult me from morning till night it means nothing to me. What is important to me is my God and the fact that I’m doing the right thing at the right time.”

Fani-Kayode dumps PDP for APC, says God him to do soPresident Buhari yesterday 16 Sept. 2021 received the former minister in Aso Rock.

The 60-year-old former aviation minister who had said his defection was informed by the holy spirit labelled the question as “insulting” and “rubbish” and wondered why he wasn’t asked the question during his six-year attack on the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

Continuing, the former minister said, “I am considerably more wealthy than most people think. And I don’t need anything from anybody.

“I work hard. I’ve always worked hard and I don’t lack anything good.

“When I was fighting the government you didn’t talk about finances or no finances. Now that I’m not fighting the government you are talking about finances or no finances.

“It’s an old narrative. It’s an old story. It’s something that Nigerians – particularly Nigerians from a particular segment of the society – like to say about those of us that are in the elite. And I am not prepared to respond to such rubbish and I’m surprised you could ask me that kind of question.

“Why don’t you go and ask others that had defected that same question. It’s a very insulting question and there’s no basis to it whatsoever.”
