Thousands of Nigeria youths have benefited from the empower program which the federal government introduced in 2018 in other to reduce the unemployment rate of youths in the country.
Batch A and Batch B of the scheme known as Npower testified of the impact which the scheme in their various ways. With just few months left for both batches to complete their duration for the program, the federal government opened porta for a new batch stating that the Batch C will only accept 400,000 youths who are unemployed.
Less than a week when the portal was opened the general public was informed that more than 2 million persons have applied for the scheme which is been scheduled for only 400,000 persons.
Cyber Cafe and various stores which is capable of processing the registration is been flooded daily by youths who wants to apply despite the present numbers of applicants. The big question here is what will be the fate of other applicants whose application won't be accepted by scheme management?
In my own view I suggest these applicants who agreed are unemployed during their registration for the scheme should be given a free ticket to join the country's Army military, this will also help reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.
Every year Army force of Nigeria seek for applicants who are interested in joining the arm force. Considering the rate of crime in the country and different atrocities and damage done in the north by Bokoharam, the country needs more men to join the army force.
