A family member of the business man, Auwal Shehu Muktar told the People's Gazette that, all the allegations filed against him are false, but will like for the case to be tried in court, so that they can be able to present their evidences, that will prove that the misappropriation of funds happened. Despite all their efforts, they have been frustrated and denied by the Nigerian police and Kastina state government.

The business man's family member also revealed that the federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted Mr Mahadi bail, yet he was denied, he also revealed that the case has now been taken to the neutral court and they are hoping that his side will be heard and evidence will be presented.
