After the news about the drama between the former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC),Mrs Joy Nunieh, and the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, senator Godswill Akpabio, I concluded that many things are playing in our Nigerian politics today.
But one notable act about the whole news and drama was how Rivers State governor, Gov. Wike gallantly came to Mrs Joy's rescue after she was almost whisked away by about 30 and policemen, who besieged her house on July 16th.
The ex acting MD have been summoned to come testify at the house of representative committee in Abuja over some corruption charges, when her house was invaded by these armed men.
Nobody really know who sent the armed man, but the intervention of the rivers state governor was epic. The Rivers State governor has also given a stern warning to whoever has to hear it that nothing must happen to Mrs Joy.
Perhaps because madam joy was a woman they wanted to intimidate her, but River State governor disappointed them with his action. With a brave act like that, I cannot help but conclude that Rivers State people will never abandon their own in times of tribulations
