The 2023 presidential election is one of the trending topics now on the internet
Different political and interest groups are demanding that the two main political parties in the country should zone their presidential tickets to their regions.
Recently, the Governors in the Southern region of Nigeria met in Enugu where they publicly declare that it's the South's turn to produce the next President.
The late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua who spent barely two years in office before he died also hails from the North-West. He is a native of Katsina State, where the incumbent President hails from.
As we are all aware that we have six geopolitical zones in the country. Out of the six zones, only three have produced the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Apart from the South-East who are clamoring for the presidency in 2023, the other two geopolitical zones that are yet to produce a president of the country are the North-Central and the North-East geopolitical zones.
What we should rather seek in 2023 is a presidential candidate that can help in finding long-lasting solutions to the arrays of problems facing Nigerians.
We should all note that it is not only the South-East that is yet to produce the President but also the North Central and North-East which also have people from other tribes which are numerous to mention.
Nigerians should rather vote for qualified, credible, and God-fearing candidates in 2023 not minding the region or geopolitical zones the person is coming from.
The Igbos have the right to demand an Igbo presidency in 2023 but they should know that it is not only their region that is yet to produce a President since the beginning of this present democratic dispensation.
