How defection of Anambra Deputy Gov may help APC to win Anambra Gov'ship election

As the November 6, governorship election in Anambra State draws closer, political parties participating in the election have been working to win the Southeast state.

While the ruling party in the State, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, wants to retain power, the All Progressives Congress, APC, wants to win the state for the first time. 

As part of the efforts to win Anambra State for the first on the November 6, 2021, governorship election, APC has been wooing members of other political parties to its fold to boost its chance of winning.

According to a report by Vanguard  Newspaper, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, recently dumped APGA for APC.

The Deputy Governor was received by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja. He was led to the Presidential Villa by Governor Hope Uzodinma who is the Chairman of APC Campaign Organization for the November 6, governorship election in Anambra State. Photo credit: Vanguard                   

The Deputy Governor's defection to the All Progressives Congress may win more people for the party in Anambra State. 

As a current Deputy Governor of the State, he has political loyalists in different parts of the State, he may influence them to join APC and work for the victory of the party in the November 6 governorship election.

Recall that the Deputy Governor is now an APC member, he will be working for APC to win the governorship election. This might make him to influence his political loyalists to join his new party and work for the victory of APC in the November 6, governorship election in the state.
