The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has endorsed the rally organised by former militant leader Asari Dokubo in support of the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo described Dokubo’s rally as a “ground force” from the creeks.

He noted that Dokubo was a longtime brother and friend.

The former militant leader had organised Niger Delta youths to attend the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Monday.

Security operatives stationed to maintain peace and order during tribunal proceedings, however, prevented the supporters from gaining entrance into the court premises.

Addressing reporters during the rally, the former militant leader said nothing can stop Tinubu’s inauguration.

Reacting to the rally via Twitter, Keyamo wrote: “Ground force’ (metaphorically speaking) from the creeks organized by my long-time brother and friend Mujahid Asari-Dokubo in support of the swearing-in of ⁦@officialABAT.”

Jerry Alagbaoso, a member of the House of Representatives, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alagbaoso, in a letter read on the floor of the House on Tuesday, said all is not well with the PDP in Imo State.

This could be a major blow to the PDP ahead of the November governorship election in the state.

All is not well in Imo State PDP. This explains why three of our colleagues from Imo State and [of] PDP extraction in the House of Representatives defected to APC a few weeks ago.

“I will not be an exception considering the man-made confusion and headaches of PDP in Imo. What is happening in Imo PDP is not satisfactory to those people (members) and my colleagues who crossed over and it is not also satisfactory to me,” Alagbaoso said.
