The death of Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua is a personal loss to me and my family. He was like a father and one of the associates of my late father who chose to take me under his wings. He was always ready to offer his advice and give a fresh perspective to issues. I will miss him and the country will miss a detribalized Nigerian and symbol of national unity that he was.
My condolences go to his family, his associates, the people and government of Katsina State and the entire country. May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his sins and grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus.
Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua, One of President Muhammadu Buhari’s closest allies, is dead. He died on Monday from a yet to be disclosed cause after falling ill for less than two hours. Funtua is touted to be a member of the ‘Cabal’, a group of influential persons around Nigeria’s President said to help him take key decisions. Newspaper patron and influential media leader, Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua is dead. He died in Abuja while undergoing a routine medical check-up. He was 78 years old. He reportedly suffered a massive heart attack during the medical check-up.
