Even without digging further, I know the reason behind the meeting was to discuss about the progress of the organisation.

Below is the key points of discussion in the meeting between the OPEC SG and President Raisi:

In the meeting, OPEC decided to raise output by 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) every month starting from August, to help fasten the global economic recovery, as the pandemic eases. The aim is to return to the normal level of production before the pandemic, with the alliance still pumping 5.8 million bpd, less than how it was before the pandemic.

In the meeting, president Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, thanked Zanganeh for his long service as a minister in the organisation. The president also paid attribute to Bijan Zanganeh.

Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo, the SG of OPEC, during the meeting, informed president Raisi that OPEC will celebrate its Diamond Anniversary in the AI Shaab Hall in Baghdad, Iraq, on the 30 of September, 2021.
