Senator Kashim Shettima, the APC vice presidential candidate, and Alhaji Ibrahim Masari were also present at the mosque.
The presidential candidate received a rousing welcome from the hundreds of worshippers present at the mosque.
The former governor of Lagos State also met with the Imam and other leaders of the mosque after the prayer.
The event comes barely 24 hours after the APC unveiled its presidential campaign council.
The governor of Borno State, Simon Lalong, was named as the Director-General of the campaign council after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, was named as the spokesperson of the council.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the official campaign for the 2023 general election will begin in September 2022.
The media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gawat Jubril, disclosed this on his Twitter handle.
