2 APC States Where National Leaders Need To Intervene Immediately

The ruling party's national leadership may be forced to interfere in two state chapters. The political party is having difficulty in Zamfara and Oyo States, and the situation should not be allowed to deteriorate. There is a requirement for action.

In fact, the party's national caretaker committee recently convened a meeting with key stakeholders in the Oyo State chapter. The goal was to resolve all of the lingering difficulties that surrounded the party in the state. The caretaker committee, led by Mai Mala Buni, also granted the stakeholders a week to resolve the issue.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the situation is just getting worse and there is still a stalemate. In fact, a state chairman has actually emerged. Mr. Isaac Omodewu was supposedly elected in Ibadan during a congress. However, his rise was rebuffed, and major figures contended that the congress was illegal.

New developments in the Oyo State branch of the party occur on a near-daily basis. The national leaders, especially Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the NEC, must now interfere in the state situation because the Mai Mala Buni-led committee has done its best.

They were urged by the national caretaker committee to harmonize the list of state executives. In Ibadan, two parallel meetings were held. Former Governor Christopher Alao Akala and Mr. Akin Oke, the head of the Oyo State caretaker committee, attended two separate meetings. Later in the day, they accused each other of destabilizing the party in the state.

Similarly, the leadership of the party should also interfere in Zamfara State. Since Bello Matawalle's return to the political party, the state chapter has been in a deeper crisis. Although the APC had problems before he returned, they have become more serious and difficult.

The matter of congresses is also a problem in the Zamfara State Chapter of APC. Mr. Bello Matawalle is contesting his predecessor, Mr. Abdulaziz Yari, at this point. They are both fighting for control of the party in the state.

Ward congresses were held by a faction loyal to the state governor, Matawalle. The other faction, which is accountable to Yari, decided to boycott the exercise. The dispute is serious, and the national leadership may need to act soon.
