The forthcoming governorship election in Edo State is seen by most of us as a big political combat between the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
They are the two main political parties in Edo State contending in the race seeking to win the election and pilot of the state. In facts, its a contest between the PDP's candidate, the incumbent Governor of the state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the APC's candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. Already the two parties have set up their various campaign council, that will over see their campaigns in the state.
However, despites campaigns committees set-up by the parties, Obaseki's aides took it up themselves to spreads fake news in the guest of winning edo citizens hearts, while the internal quibbling in Obaseki's government had already traumatized them, and the Governor have also left 14 constituencies unrepresented in the state House of Assembly for months.
On APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, by the virtue of my understanding with him over the months, has distinguished himself to me as a better manager of men and resources than the embattled Gov. Obaseki who have questionable sign on his face.
In the past few days, we all have seen how Governor Obaseki's aides turned propagandist. After nearly four years of complete silence and now because of the dawning realization that the days of their current master, Mr. Obaseki, and other leeches feeding on the resources of Edo State are numbered.
I still believe that Gov. Obaseki is no better man than Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, that they are speaking against on daily basis. Hence, Obaseki and his political thugs should refrain from telling Nigerians that the edo state people are solidly behind them.
Meanwhile, each one of the parties campaigns teams has a strong and experienced politicians. both teams are expected to lead their party to the election with the mandate to emerge victorious in that guber race.
