Emeka Etiaba (SAN), a Senior Advocate Of Nigeria has faulted the INEC for being too hasty to declare Bola Tinubu of APC the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria. Etiaba said that the INEC should have considered some things before making the decision of announcing Bola Tinubu the winner of the presidential election.
He said "INEC should have looked into the complaints on ground, the INEC should have announced the winner of the election after resolving the complains on ground". Undoubtedly, there were a lot of complains from other party agents during the collation of the election results.
Nigerians also complained that the INEC failed to use the BVAS to upload the results directly from the party polling units to the iRev. "The issue of the results not being uploaded to iRev was brought out, but the INEC just swept it under the carpet and went on to declare Bola Tinubu the winner of the presidential election.
He said that the INEC was supposed to settle all these issues before announcing the winner of the election, but they refused to do so, which is very wrong from their side.
