How Can You Be Asking For Senate Presidency From Same Person You Say Should Not Be Sworn In? - Dr Josef Onoh

Dr Josef Onoh, spokesman for the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the South-East, has tackled the Igbo groups that are calling for the zoning of the Senate presidency to the South-East region.

In the report which was made by Vanguard, Onoh said that it is hypocrisy that those agitating for the Senate Presidency to be zoned to South-East are the same people campaigning that Tinubu should not be sworn in on May 29th, until the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal delivers verdict on the petitions facing Tinubu.

He said that he warned the Igbos against bringing in sentiments into their political approach, but they ignored him and even called him names.

He said - "What I expected from the people contesting the seat of the Senate president was to call these elders to order because they are promoting divide. How can you be asking for Senate presidency from the same person that you are asking that he should not be sworn in?"

He advised the Senators from the South-East who are seeking the position of Senate president to go back to the Igbo elders and ask them to build bridges and discuss how to build a Nigeria that is united.
