Garba Shehu Says 'Report On Corruption Perceptions Index In Nigeria Not Accurate'

According to a new report by Transparency International (TI), about two-thirds of the countries in the world have a very low score on corruption. They all secured below 50. This means that corruption is still high in the world.

Nigeria's score in the index is 25 and ranks 49 against the previous 46. This means that there is an increase in corruption in 2020 by 3 points. But Garbat(who is the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President) says that the report is not accurate and does not reflect reality. reasons why he doubting the TI's report ;

1. About sixty percent of the data TI collected to form the 2019 report were gathered from those businesses with corruption issues.

2. The introduction of treasury single accounts.

3. 54,000 ghost workers have been dictated and removed from the civil service
