Kaduna State Government has ordered the closure of all event centres and night clubs in the state

The Kaduna state government has ordered the closure of all event centres, night clubs and gymnasium following the recent update of the second wave of the Corona virus.

The state government has also restricted all restaurants in the state to takeaway services only. While transport operators are to reduce the number of passengers they accommodate in their mode of transport by 50%, and also ensure that all their passengers puts on face mask and observe all COVID-19 preventive measures.

This directive was made known by the Governor of the state, Governor Nasir El-Rufai after the presentation of Kaduna state Commissioner of health,Dr. Amina Baloni who said “We are seeing rates of infection that are up to 30 percent across the state, although they are more in the northern and central parts of the state. The new infections cut across all age groups but the working age population is most affected."

The Governor of the state further assured the people that the state is not going on a total lockdown but there is a need for the state to take all preventive measures so as not to record a large number of cases.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe also said that: “While pursuing livelihoods, going to work, dropping our children in school, travelling, shopping or engaging in congregational worship, there are many opportunities for the virus to spread. We all need to take the necessary precautions."
