Niger State House of Assembly Impeaches Both Majority Leader and Deputy

The House of Assembly of Niger State has today impeached its majority leader Suleiman Nasko and his deputy, Andrew Jagaba. This took place following the adoption of motion by honourable members representing constituencies, during Thursday's plenary.

According to the motion, the majority leader and the deputy majority leader were responsible for the delays in the assembly activities. It stated that their leaders were not being progressive.

The Niger State Assembly Speaker, said he was not informed on the motion to impeach the majority leader and deputy which is not in line with House Standing Order.

But the order given by the Speaker was asked to be suspended by the house members. A new majority leader was then nominated by some honourable members of the house.

This politics has entered another level and it is heating up gradually.
