Court Overrules Tinubu, APC, Consolidates Atiku
The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, consolidated the three different petitions that are seeking to nullify the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

A five-member panel of the court led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, in a unanimous decision, dismissed objections the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, raised against the merger of the petitions.
The court held that the Justice of the cases demanded that they should be consolidated and dealt with as one petition since they all relate to the same election.
I’ll fight until I get justice – Tonye Cole
The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, has said he’s committed to pursuing his petition challenging the outcome of the 2023 governorship election.

Cole said he would continue to pursue his petition until he gets justice. He was reacting to rumors circulating about the withdrawal of the APC from the petition challenging the state’s governor-elect, Similiayi Fubara. However, Cole said he remains undeterred until he gets justice.
Tweeting, Cole wrote: “I want to formally denounce the false rumors surrounding our petition against the results of the Rivers State governorship election.
“I assure you that our petition stands strong and unwavering, and we will not be swayed in our pursuit of justice. “Despite attempts to undermine our efforts, I want to emphasize that we are tirelessly working to ensure our voices are heard.
Group asks EFCC, ICPC to probe Akpabio’s tenure as governor
A civil society organization, Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking, on Tuesday, asked anti-corruption agencies to probe the administration of Senator Godswill Akpabio for alleged corruption while he was governor of Akwa Ibom State.

The organization alleged that the fortunes of Akwa-Ibom people were allegedly mortgaged for personal aggrandizement under Akpabio and so the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices, and other related Offences Commission should step in and probe the former governor.
The allegation is coming a few days before the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly with the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs as one of the front runners for the Senate Presidency. The Executive Director of Investigation in the organization, Samson Tega, and Operational Manager, Stanley Ugabe, told journalists in Abuja that Akpabio was not fit to be Senate President considering the allegations against him.

The Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, emerged as the new Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, on Tuesday. Yahaya, who was elected governor of the state in 2019, won his re-election bid for a second term in the February 2023 general election.

He will be taking over from the outgoing chairman of the forum, Simon Lalong, who is also the governor of Plateau State.
Lalong was elected chairman of the forum in 2019.
