Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Leader, said on Thursday, that the reservations often made by a large section of Nigerian citizens that the role of First Lady is not constitutional in Nigeria, judging by the achievements of the wife of the President, Hajjia Aisha Buhari since her husband assumed the democratic leadership of the country, had now been put to bed, eternally.
This, the former Lagos Governor said at the public presentation of Mrs Buhari’s biography, titled, 'Aisha Buhari: Being different,' scribed by Dr Hajo Sani, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs.
Tinubu spoke further at the occasion, that 'on the singular account of the great performance of the First Lady, it is no longer reasonably possible to question the crucial role a First Lady has to play (in Nigeria) any more.
Tinubu did not mince words, when he described the First Lady as having contributed immensely in uplifting and unifying the Nigerian society both in symbol and substance. Hajjia Buhari has always registered her voice of conscience to all Nigerians to be at our best to make our country better, as well as improving the lives of the weakest and most vulnerable among us.
Therefore, she has, without any doubts, been a strong pillar of support, not only to her husband, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but also the Nigerian people at large.
