The chairmen of the Labour Party in the 36 states of the federation have declared that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi cannot win the presidential election on Saturday.They accused Obi of neglecting them in the running of his campaign and mobilisation activities.

Sani Abdulsalam, Gombe State LP chairman and co-ordinating chairman for the 36 States, Sani at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, said such tendencies could affect the party’s performance at the polls.

Abdulsalam said the 36 state Chairmen of the party had never been respected by the party leadership and also its presidential candidate.

He said Obi deliberately mismanaged their goodwill with the imposition of his members and other support groups that decamped with him in May 2022 to the party.

Labour Party, LP, chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has labelled the All Progressives Congress, APC, a religious party. He made the declaration on Thursday when he appeared on Channels Television 2023 Verdict.

The spokesperson of the LP Presidential Campaign Council stated the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC was against the provisions of the constitution.

An All Progressive Congress, APC governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Dr Sanusi Ohiare has expressed confidence that the party‘s Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the Saturday’s presidential election.

Dr. Ohiare said Tinubu’s performance as governor of Lagos state has shown that he will turn around the fortune of Nigeria if voted as the next president.

He also stated that none of the other candidate measure up to Tinubu in terms of politics and professional antecedents.

Dr Sanusi stated this on Wednesday in Okene, headquarters of Kogi Central Senatorial district during a rally he organized to boost Tinubu/Shettima presidential ambition in the state.

As the crisis of Naira redesign persists, the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, has dismissed insinuations that President Muhammadu Buhari overruled the Supreme Court order on the new naira .

He disclosed this yesterday during the weekly ministerial briefing organised by the presidential communication team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him, no Nigerian has taken the old notes to the bank and was rejected, even as he insisted that the administration had not breached the apex court.

He also stated that the Naira design was intended to stop moneybags from hijacking the general election, adding that no president had sanitised the electoral process like President Buhari.
