Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) says it has proof that cattle owned by herdsmen destroyed crops in farms across the country.
The MURIC Director, Ishaq Akintola, who disclosed this in a statement, called on the Nigerian government to compensate farmers whose crops have been destroyed.
According to him, MURIC has evidence of herdsmen's culpability, including video clips, in which cows destroyed farms belonging to members of the organisation.
FRSC Warns Against Underage Driving In Gombe
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Gombe State Command, has warned against underage driving in the state.
Mr Ibrahim Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of FRSC in the state gave the warning on Saturday while sensitising motorists in Zambuk Community, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of the state.
He said that the command had noticed that some children below the age of driving now ride motorcycles, tricycles and even taxis, saying “it is an offence.’’
Hoodlums Strike Again In Oyo
Four operatives of the Oyo State Security Network otherwise called Amotekun Corps are currently battling for survival at a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State after being attacked by hoodlums on Friday.
The personnel and some policemen were reportedly attacked by hoodlums at Odeyale area of Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State before noon.
Atiku Breaks Silence
Former Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the ban placed on Cryptocurrency by the Muhammadu Buhari Administration.
Abubakar, in a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA on Saturday, warned that the policy was adding to ‘Economic Pressure’ facing Nigerian youths.
"Already, the nation suffered severe economic losses from the border closure, and the effects of the #COVID19 pandemic.This is definitely the wrong time to introduce policies that will restrict the inflow of capital into Nigeria, and I urge that the policy to prohibit the dealing and transaction of cryptocurrencies be revisited.”
Gumi Speaks Again
Sheikh Ahmad Gumi says the easiest and safest way to end insecurity in the north is to negotiate peace with the bandits that have turned the region into a killing field.
Some state governments in the region have made it a policy to negotiate with bandits to surrender their arms in return for amnesty after years of killing thousands, and wreaking havoc.
Gumi himself has become a peace broker over the past few months, meeting with bandits in Kaduna and Zamfara to negotiate their peaceful surrender.
