'You can't ban open grazing because right from the time of Moses it was always open' - Miyetti Allah

The association of Cattle readers known as Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore says that South-West governors can not ban open grazing.

The group said that the ban on open grazing is a calculated attempt to displace herdsmen of their means of livelihood.

Speaking in an interview with Punch, the Secretary-General of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Saleh Alhassan said that grazing is not like a motorcycle business and there should be an alternative before it is banned.

Speaking further, he said the the South-West governors can not claim to be embracing peaceful herders and yet ban open grazing because there is nothing like closed grazing.

He now said that right from the time of Moses grazing has always been open and can't be banned.

The group noted that banning open grazing is the same as giving eviction notice to herdsmen.
