Buhari's prayers were contained in a post made on Facebook and Twitter handle of the president's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The message which president Buhari sent on behalf of the people Nigeria, prayed for full and speedy recovery of the Saudi King.
In the message, President Buhari described the Saudi King as one of the finest world leaders he had ever met during his interactions with world leaders. He also described the King as a special friend of Nigeria who had always identified with Nigeria at all times through important collaborations and cooperations.
The Saudi Ruler is the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia's.
Reuters reported that the 84-year-old ruler Abdulaziz, had been admitted to hospital in the capital Riyadh, suffering from inflammation of the gall bladder.
President Buhari's message reads:
“On behalf of myself, government and people of Nigeria, I pray for speedy and full recovery of the Saudi King, one of the finest leaders I have ever met in the course of my interactions with world leaders.
“King Salman is a true friend of Nigeria who has never failed to identify with us at all times through important collaborations and cooperation.
“As the King receives medical attention, I send my best wishes and prayers for his speedy recovery.’’
