Parade protest

Nigerians storm the INEC collation center with placards and demands for a rerun (Photos)

Some concerned Nigerians stormed the National Collation Center, Abuja, to register their displeasure with the method of announcing results adopted by INEC.

Protesters on Tuesday, February 28, were seen with placards and heard asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop the process and follow the method of uploading polling unit results to the commission's server for everyone to see before announcing them.

This peaceful call by these Nigerians could be said to have been triggered by Senator Dino Melaye's observations after the announcement of the Ekiti state result on Monday, February 27.

The protesters were chanting, "We no go gree," as they asked the electoral body to cancel the election and offer the option of a re-run if they were unable to upload the PU results.

The protesters also allege that the election must have been rigged if the commission cannot upload the results for every Nigerian to see.
