Buhari Blows Hot, Sends New Order Over Insecurity.
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja ordered the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to improve surveillance and control around the nation’s borders and “ensure that criminal elements don’t find Nigeria as a safe haven to hide and perpetrate their criminality.’’
Buhari, in his speech at the virtual Commissioning Ceremony of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Technology Building, also ordered all security agencies to raise their performance in protecting lives and property, with a mandate that the country’s Global Security Index must be improved.
The President urged the NIS to collaborate with International Security Organizations like INTERPOL in safeguarding the borders.
Muhammadu Sanusi II Resumes Top Appointment In Kaduna State.
Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has resumed duties as the Vice Chairman of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).
He attended his first meeting virtually on Thursday during the formal inauguration of the KADIPA board by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
It will be recalled that Sanusi was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA) by El-Rufai barely 24 hours after he was removed as Emir of Kano by the State government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
KADIPA has a mandate to make Kaduna State the topmost investment destination in Nigeria, by improving its Ease of Doing Business ranking.
Speaking at the formal inauguration of the KADIPA board, Governor El-Rufai appreciated Sanusi for accepting the offer to serve on the board and formally welcomed him on behalf of the people of Kaduna State.
Another Prominent Politician Dies.
Another death has rocked the House of Representatives, as a member representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, Hassan Kila passes on.
A member of the House, Magaji Da’u Aliyu announced the death of Kila on his Facebook page on Thursday.
Kila reportedly died after a brief illness at a hospital in Abuja.
The lawmaker spent a large part of his career as a controller of customs with the Nigerian Customs Service, Abuja and In 2015 he was elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to represent Gwaram Federal Constituency.
Only recently, Ossy Prestige passed on at a hospital in Germany after battling an undisclosed illness.

Fulani Herdsmen Butchered Amotekun In Oyo.
Two people are feared dead following a fight between a Fulani man and a Yoruba man at Aba Abugudu Market in the Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
This was even as two members of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, and a vigilante also sustained injuries during the fight which occurred on Monday.
According to Punch, the Amotekun operatives identified as Michael Oguntade and Yekini Tijani alongside the vigilante were trying to stop the fight when a Fulani man drew his cutlass, attacked them, and inflicted varying degrees of injury on them.
The state Commandant of Amotekun Corps, Olayinka Olayanju, who confirmed the incident, said the security operatives were rushed to the hospital.
