The minister of Humanitarian Affairs disaster management and social development Sadiya Umar Faruq has shared an important letter through one of her verified social media page.
The Minister said: Our prayers are with the family and friends of the flying officer Tolulope Arotile who was 24 years old, she dies as a result of meeting with an accident.
The minister said this in her letter: "I received with deep sadness, news of the untimely death of flying Officer, Tolulope Arotile who died following a motor accident. Her passing has been particularly saddening for me, first as a mother but more importantly as a public servant whose remit evolves around privileging the youth of Nigeria in achieving the Government's Social developent Mandate".
She also proclaimed that: "Tolulope was a shining star, a beacon of hope and an example of all that is possible when our Youth apply themselves, I was particularly impressed by her achievements as a woman making her mark and giant strides in a male dominated environment. At 24, She had already achieved an enviable status as Nigeria's first female combat helicopter pilot and was one f those leading the charge in the FG's battle against banditry and insurgency which continue to contribute to the humanitarian challenges confronting us in the North East and otherwise".
She Also said "When we speak of the Youth as the hope and future of Nigeria, Tolulope's achievements stand as testimonials to the potential and promise of our young people as leaders of tomorrow. This is what makes her passing so unfortunate and sad. I join his Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and other well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating this unique Nigerian patriot while asking God to grant her soul eternal rest as well as comfort to her family and fellow airmen and women. - Sadiya Umar - Farouq."
