The reason President Buhari restrict Sallah homage in Aso rock.

President Muhammadu Buhari has decided not to receive any Sallah homage as part of activities marking the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting by Muslims.

Buhari gave this restriction to prevent the number of people that might gather in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He asked that community, religious and political leaders who usually pay him traditional Sallah homage should be modest celebrations in their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has been the tradition that during such major religious festivals, the Vice president leads the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, leaders and residents of Abuja to pay homage to the President in the Presidential villa.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said in a statement that Buhari would not receive Sallah homage just as he did the previous year.

"As Muslims in the Nation join others world wide to prepare towards Eid Al-Fitr, a day that is marked to celebrate the end of Ramadan, Buhari directs that all celebrations be limited due to the global Coronavirus pandemic". he said.

Buhari also seized the opportunity to condole with families who lost families and loved ones due to what he describe as madness going on in some parts of the nation.

He specially appreciate all Islamic clerics(Ulama) and religious leaders who continue to pray for the wellbeing of the country.
