The Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi over his recent statement.
Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State in a recent interview on national television stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the worst election in recent history.

Recall that the electoral umpire had earlier announced the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the recently-conducted presidential election.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress defeated other strong contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party to clinch the apex political seat in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi have inaugurated their legal teams to challenge the results announced by the electoral body.
They claimed that the presidential election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission were manipulated in favour of the president-elect.
Reacting to the recent statement by Peter Obi, Bayo Onanuga said; "From the false narrative Obi has been pushing, he is the one trying to steal Bola Tinubu’s mandate, by appealing unashamedly to tribal and religious sentiments and by resorting to his sickening penchant for lying boldfacedly to snatch what does not belong to him."
He added; "We consider Obi’s TV statements as prejudicial to the case he has filed and contemptuous of the court. Only a desperate politician like Obi will embark on his course of action: seeking justice in court and simultaneously embarking on a mission of blackmailing and intimidating the judiciary"
